Our family-run agency - originally known as Gerald C. Finkelman, Inc. - opened its doors in 1975 with only one carrier, The Hartford. The agency's greatest assets were Gerald's wealth of knowledge from 22 years in the business, along with the collective commitment of our staff.
Since then, we've developed a steady following of longstanding clients who value our thoughtful advice, personal service and exceptional attention to detail. This tradition continues today through the leadership of a close-knit management team that includes Roy, Alan and Alex Finkelman, Gerald's sons and grandson respectively.
The world of insurance, and business in general, is much different now. However, the basic precepts remain same. Our customers value the ability to work directly with the owners of the agency. They also appreciate the way we go to the ends of the earth to serve their needs - and to be accessible when they need us most.

The promise behind our name.
Our current name, The Egis Group, was adopted in 2000. The word "Egis" essentially means "shield". It reflects our mission to be advocates and advisors for our valued clients, who count on us to provide highly personalized protection and service.
