A Self-Survey For Hidden Risks
Our checklist is meant to help you get started on the first step of risk management: identifying your exposures. Naturally, this exercise does not cover every potential risk in your personal life, so we encourage you to add to the list, and thus add to the effectiveness of your loss control efforts.
Along with all of the outside resources that can help you evaluate your exposures, you might want to have a friend conduct the survey along with you. That way, you'll have someone looking at your exposures in a "fresh light"- something that would be hard for you to do alone. Perhaps you can "trade off" with a neighbor who would also like a fresh look at his or her personal risks.
